Eurocode Design Reports Are Now Available in Awatif
The biggest Awatif release since version 3 is here.
We have added Eurocode-based design components for concrete, steel, and timber members.
These components are fully integrated with Awatif’s structural analysis engine and generate clean design reports automatically.
Analysis and design in one model
Structural analysis and member design are often handled in separate tools.
This creates unnecessary manual work. Engineers need to transfer forces, update inputs, regenerate calculations, and check whether everything is still consistent after changing the structural model.
Awatif now connects the analysis and design workflows directly.
When you change the model, the analysis results update—and the member design updates with them.
This makes it easier to:
- Explore different structural systems
- Compare member sizes
- Understand the effect of design changes
- Build interactive structural engineering applications
- Generate consistent design calculations
Concrete design
The concrete design component performs Eurocode-based reinforced concrete section checks.
It includes section-capacity calculations, biaxial bending checks, reinforcement checks, and automatically generated utilization results.
Because the design is connected to the analysis model, changes to geometry, materials, reinforcement, or loading can immediately be reflected in the design report.
Steel design
The steel component generates Eurocode-based member design calculations for steel sections.
The report presents the member geometry, material properties, section classification, design forces, capacities, and utilization checks in a format that is easy to inspect.
Timber design
The timber component provides Eurocode-based design checks for timber members.
The generated report includes the member geometry, timber properties, service conditions, design factors, and the corresponding capacity checks.
Automatically generated design reports
Each design component comes with a structured report that explains the calculation instead of only returning a pass-or-fail result.
The reports are generated directly from the model and update as the model changes.
This is useful for engineers building:
- Internal calculation tools
- Parametric design applications
- Educational applications
- Design optimization workflows
- Client-facing engineering tools
Free and open source
Awatif is completely free and released under the MIT licence.
You can use it, modify it, study how the calculations are implemented, and build your own engineering applications on top of it.

Build your own engineering tools
Our mission is simple:
Help structural engineers build their own engineering apps, rather than only buying them.
Structural engineers understand their workflows, design decisions, and repetitive tasks better than anyone else.
With open-source components, AI, and accessible development tools, engineers can turn that knowledge into practical software tailored to the way they work.
This release is another step toward making that possible.
